The Ancient Greece coin
The Greeks don't have the same idea of economy that we people have today. The word "economy" is Greek but it mean "rules of a household", they didnt think of the economy as a whole. Though they didnt have a goverment policy they still made, bought, sold & used things which is what an economy is. Many Greeks were sailors and sailed all over the East Mediterrenean. They found many ways to make a living most of them were fishermens who sold and ate fish. Some other greeks were traders who bought and sold thing and made good profit from them. Other Greeks were soliders for there city-states who conquered cities and forced them to pay tribute.Others were mercenaries, hiring out themselves and ships to fight for other countries like Egypt.
